Local School Councils are comprised of 11 or 12 members:

No experience is required to be a parent or community representative and once elected, you will serve a two-year term. Elections for LSC positions are held every two years on the Spring Report Card Pick-Up Day.
To run as an LSC parent or community representative, you must submit the following forms:

- 6 parent representatives;
- 2 community representatives;
- 2 teacher representatives; and
- 1 student representative (high schools only).

- be the parent or legal guardian of a child currently enrolled in that school and
- you must not be an employee of the Board.
To be eligible to serve as a community representative, you must:
- reside in the attendance area or voting district of that school;
- you must NOT be the parent or legal guardian of a child currently enrolled at that school; and
- you must not be an employee of the Board.
