Here's What's Growing Now!
Fall School Supply Drive, 2016
Our 46th Ward students will be returning to school very soon and, even though they might not yet be ready to go back to the classroom, we are ready to start preparing them! We are currently collecting school supplies for the 2016-2017 school year and will continue to accept donations until Labor Day (school starts the day after Labor Day). Click HERE for supply lists.
There are THREE ways you can participate in our Fall School Supply Drive:
(1) Drop off supplies at Alderman Cappleman's Office (4544 N. Broadway) during regular office hours (Monday 9-7, Tuesday-Friday 9-5).
(2) Shop directly from our Amazon Wish List and all items will be delivered directly to Alderman Cappleman's office.
(3) Donate directly to Friends of the 46th Ward Schools through Paypal and funds will be used to purchase supplies for the schools.

Friends of the 46th Ward Schools seeks to enhance quality public education opportunities for students in the 46th Ward by facilitating community participation in public education, improving communication between schools, parents, and community members, and by seeking resources to support the education of our community’s children.
Friends of the 46th Ward Schools was formed in 2011 by a group of parents and community members who are passionate about uniting the 46th Ward community with its schools and working together to boost the resources available to the schools. The group is incorporated as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and plans to raise and distribute funds for the schools in the 46th Ward.
Support Us, Support Our Schools
Stay current with our activities and the needs of our 46th Ward schools by joining our mailing list. During the school year, we strive to send monthly newsletters to update our supporters on our efforts, positive happenings in the schools, and pending Donors Choose projects. We also occasionally send notices for specific requests from the schools.
Friends of the 46th Ward Schools is always seeking the help of volunteers to assist in the execution of its goals. Volunteer members would include interested . parents, dedicated teachers and school staff, and involved community members, no experience necessary. If you are interested in volunteering your time to Friends of the 46th Ward Schools, please send an e-mail to Friends46thWardSchools@gmail.com.
Friends of the 46th Ward Schools also aims to provide members of the community with opportunities to support the schools in the 46th Ward. Opportunities of all types will be posted here.
Thank you for helping us carry out our mission!
